From Resilience to Competitiveness—The New Industrial Mandate

The 2026 theme for Zimbabwean industry has shifted: while resilience was about surviving volatility, competitiveness is now about thriving through productivity and innovation. As the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) opens new doors, local firms must move beyond “just keeping the lights on” to adopting global standards in manufacturing and value addition. This post explores how BCSDZ members are leveraging technical committees to lower the cost of doing business, optimize industrial capacity, and transition from survival-based operations to scale-ready, export-competitive enterprises.
